Then they suddenly did a U-turn in the 70s and became big and wide, worn with flared pants. Come 2011 and trends seem more eclectic, accommodating the varying tastes of fashion-conscious men across the world.

Classic: Silk ties in 7.5 cm or 8.5 cm blade remain a classic that you could never go wrong with. Choose mens designer ties that are hand-made in silk for a truly well-groomed look. Choose from plain, striped, paisley or checks for a different look every day.

Narrow ties: Mens designer ties have also shrunk to a barely there dimension. As narrow as 2 inches, these ties are meant to be worn with narrow-legged trousers and a fitted coat. You could loosen the tie slightly at the collar for a casual, not-trying-too-hard look.

Plaid: Look for silk ties in plaid. This print is totally now and will have you stand out from the rest. The key is to mix and match wear a plaid tie against a printed shirt. This season is all about layering on different prints, set off by a plain coat.

The Prince Of Wales Smoking Jacket

Try to chart the course of fashion and youll need more than a sexton, compass and telescope, to navigate to its beginning. The rise and fall of fashion is like waves in a storm filled ocean. However, charting the course of style is much easier, it has a known beginning, its progress can be documented and unlike the turbulent fluctuations of fashion, style dictates a constant theme that has the ability to cross cultural barriers and oceans.

British civil administration made it easier for us to chart the course of style because of the precise way its administrators recorded important historic events. But its also worth remembering that before computers and electronic organisers people kept diaries where dates and events were recorded with great accuracy. Unlike the throw away society of today many of these diaries were kept and are intact even today. Baeurocratic systems certainly play an important role, accurately recording information through the ages enabling fashion designers to access archives.

For example its well documented that Thomas Burberry opened his own business in 1856 in Basingstoke, Hampshire. Noticing how local shepherds and farmers wore linen smocks, which were cool in summer and warm in the winter, he attempted to apply the same principles to other clothing. In 1879 he developed a fabric which was weatherproofed in the yarn before weaving, using a secret process and then proofed again in the piece, using the same undisclosed formula. The new material was un-tearable and weatherproof, whilst cool and breathable. He called the cloth gabardine and registered the word as a trademark.

In 1901 Thomas Burberry designed a raincoat that became the regulation style during the First World War. Adapted to include functional epaulettes, straps and D-rings, it was named The Trench Coat. At that time, officers in the army took to wearing a Burberry raincoat as part of their uniform. The lightweight cotton was preferred to the heavy rubberised mackintosh that was supplied at the time.

The Burberry Trench coat continues to be an essential part of outerwear collections. Authentic details remain even to the metal D rings on the belt, which are now purely decorative. However this is interpreted from season to season according to whether fashion dictates a slim or full fitting silhouette together with a long or short hemline.

Extraordinarily that same century, 1860, the Prince of Wales ordered a short smoking jacket to wear at informal dinner parties at Sandringham from his friend, the tailor, Henry Poole. It was the first dinner jacket on record and was cut in midnight blue cloth. In 1886, a Mr James Potter of Tuxedo Park, New York, was a houseguest at Sandringham. He consequently ordered a similar dinner jacket to Bertie’s from Henry Poole & Co. It was this dinner jacket that Mr Potter wore at the Tuxedo Park Club inspiring numerous copies that fellow members wore as informal uniform for stag dinners. Thus the Tuxedo was born at Henry Poole & Co. It took only eight years for an accidental style to cross the Atlantic Ocean and soon became an American institution.

There are many other prime example of style innovation to note, interestingly many originated in Mother England come on the mighty blues Take Harris Tweed; its been constant through many decades of fashion fluctuations. The dark business suit dates back to the early nineteenth century, initiated by Beau Brummell, this style continues today. The tie dates back thousands of years. Jessie Langsdorf a New York tailor made significant structural changes to the tie eighty years ago. He made his ties from three separate pieces of silk: the blade, the gusset and the under-end, these were cut at 45 degrees on the bias.

So lets drop a few names of individuals who initiated styles that are taken for grated today, Coco Chanel, Jean Patou, Beau Brummell, Amelia Bloomer, Thomas Burberry, Jessie Langsdorf, Tommy Nutter, Vivian Westwood, Oxford University, and Cambridge University, Thomas Burberry. Its all history, but like history fashion has a habit of repeating itself, actually fashion is just repetition of style. Style is constant, fashion comes and goes

Everything You Need To Know About Boo The Pomeranian

It looks like the trick to getting 4.6 million fans on Facebook is to have a cute haircut. And to be Pomeranian named Boo.

This little dog has been collecting likes since his owner started a Facebook page in 2009 as a joke. The page information reads My name is Boo. I am a dog. Life is good. This little Pom has become known in celebrity circles as well as to the average Joe, with Khloe Kardashian posting his picture to her blog, and Ke$ha tweeting about the dog as her new boyfriend.

Boos owner remains anonymous, using the name J.H. Lee to talk to the public and the press. She has also kept her location secret, although it is known that she lives in the United States. She told the story of how Boo got his signature look, which is short hair all over, except a bit puffier around the head.
The Poms hair had become knotted and tangled to the point where his groomer said the best option would be to shave it off. This is not a sign of neglect; in fact, Pomeranians are notorious for having these kinds of issues with their hair.

The groomer said they wouldn’t even be able to get a brush through him, his owner recalled in an interview. I was really upset when I heard that. But when I picked him up, I found he was actually really cute that way.
She takes pictures of Boo every day to upload to the fan page, which has been categorized as a Public Figure page. Boo is famous for wearing different outfits and accessories, including varying sunglasses, baseball caps, tuxedos, and pumpkin costumes.

He has also been involved in events. For example, for We Day, an initiative of NGO Free the Children that combats child slave labor around the world, Boo was a part of a project where each new like on his Facebook page would mean a $1 donation to the NGOs work.

He has been wrapped up in blankets and towels, photographed lying in drawers, at the Tory Burch store in New York, and a thousand other positions and settings. He even has his own book, Boo: The Life of the Worlds Cutest Dog.

Boos career took a turn when he was offered modeling jobs for the online shop Tobi. He also appeared in an Operation Smile fundraising campaign, a charity that provides surgery to repair childrens mouths from deformities so that they can smile again.

Rumor has it that the short-haired Pom showed up in a Google ad, and there was a lot of debate about whether the woman in the commercial is his real owner or not. The only evidence that has been seen of J.H. Lees physical appearance is a shot of her legs in one of the pictures she posted of Boo.
With no shortage of outfits and poses, Boo and his owner seem to have a good thing going for them. Some people get lucky, but it seems like Lee has a full time job keeping her dogs fans satisfied with new information and photos.

Born in 2006, the little Pom is six years old now, and a person cant help but wonder what will happen when he starts to get too old to model. For now, though, the Facebook page continues to get at least a thousand new fans a day, so there is very little to worry about for the canine star and his human owner. The only real question is where will Boo turn up next?

Ladies Dresses And Tops Bring Back Feminine Details This Season

Whether you are looking for ladies dresses or ladies tops, this season you have plenty of stunning options to suit your style. From vivid oranges to yummy yellows, this season is full of incredible options for trendy ladies. The toughest part of being a fashion fiend this year, might very well be narrowing down your abundant choices.

When it comes to ladies dresses, this year is all about knits. Knit dresses are a perfect go-to option for just about any occasion. They are great for cooler days when paired with leggings and boots, or work just as well over skinny jeans, when worn as an elongated tunic top. A knit dress also looks smashing when worn over a patterned nylon and heels, or when coordinated with capri leggings. Ladies dresses are already versatile, but the knit dress leads the pack this year in terms of flexibility.

If dresses arent your style, another option to show off your feminine side this year is with the incredible array of ladies tops that are available. This season, the look is all about extra details. Ruffles are hugely popular; look for smaller ruffled details at the cuffs and down the front of ladies tops. Minor ruffles reminiscent of a tuxedo shirt are one option, while even smaller ruffles along collar edges are another. Even tiny ruffles bordering the edges of the button placket can be found on many feminine blouses this season. This year, the look is all about showing that touch of femininity in your dressing.

Blouses are by no means your only option this year when it comes to ladies tops. Tee shirts are hugely popular too. You can find anything from a short sleeve tee shirt perfect for a lightweight jacket, all the way to a long sleeve tunic in tee shirt fabric. When it comes to tee shirt dressing this year, it is all about comfort and color. Color blocking is everywhere this year. Bold blocks of color give a groovy look that many baby boomers will find oddly familiar. Younger ladies love this look due to its retro vibe. They may not have been around for the original color-blocking era of the seventies, but they sure do like the look when combined with this years skinny jean trend. For older ladies, asymmetrical floral prints and rhinestones are as popular as ever in tee shirts. Perfect for cruise wear or for ladies who lunch, a feminine floral with just a touch of dazzle is always a surefire hit. Whether worn over capri shorts in the summer, or with jeans and boots during cooler weather, a floral tee never goes out of style.
